__________________________________________________________________________________________ What is CytoSpec? __________________________________________________________________________________________ The Multivariate Imaging Software package CytoSpec represents a novel approach for creating pseudo-color displays of spectral imaging data via statistical methods that utilize the entire spectral information. It is laid out and optimized to work on 3-dimensional spectral data sets from imaging or mapping infrared or Raman experiments. Native data formats from from various instrument manufacturers can be analyzed. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Whats new in CytoSpec 1.3? __________________________________________________________________________________________ * ROI (region of interest) tools: manual definition of 'bad' regions. Permits in conjunction with the concept of 'bad' spectra image processings on regions selected by the user * New preprocessing function subtract: subtraction of hyperspectral data sets by internal or externally loaded spectra. * New import filter for WITEC-Raman mapping data (ASCII). * Improved import filter for THERMO-NICOLET's(TM) '*.map' - files (OMNIC) * Re-designed ASCII-import routines * New visualisation tools for spectral maps (display large maps) . * A new routine for automatic batch processing ('batch multiple files') * Interface to the NeuroDeveloper(TM) software package (Synthon Analytics GmbH), a simulator for artificial neural network analysis. * Interface to Matlab(TM). Cytospec data can be stored in a Matlab(TM) data format. * PCA based noise reduction * Updated xyz-ASCII import filter of Raman data * Export of spectra via the JCAMP.dx data format * Functions 'cut' and 'interpolate' with enhanced functionality. These functions can be used to cut/interpolate the spectral hypercube in the spectral and also in the spatial domains * Macro-programming for automatization of preprocessing routines * Many code improvements & bug fixes. __________________________________________________________________________________________ GETTING STARTED - INSTALLATION __________________________________________________________________________________________ Once you have received the CytoSpec CD (or downloaded the zip-archive of the CytoSpec demo version from CytoSpec's website), you are ready to install the program. During the installation procedure CytoSpec's files will be automatically extracted from the cabinet and all necessary steps for starting CytoSpec will be taken. IMPORTANT: In order to run CytoSpec an additional license key file ('keygen.gen') must be copied into CytoSpec's main directory. This individual license key is NOT included in the CytoSpec CD and can be obtained only by sending a request by e-mail (order@CytoSpec.com). * Open the Windows File Manager or Explorer. * Locate the CytoSpec setup file on the CD you received. The file is named Setup.exe * To start the installation process just double click on setup.exe. The installation program will be started automatically. * Determine the place on your harddisk where you want Cytospec to be installed. Normally the proposed c:\program files\CytoSpec\CytoSpec will do fine. * Then simply follow the instructions of the installation program. * When setup is complete you can find a new program group and a CytoSpec shortcut on the desktop. * You can copy now the license key file into CytoSpec's main directory (e.g. c:\program files\CytoSpec\CytoSpec) * Start the programm by double clicking on the CytoSpec icon.
