__________________________________________________________________________________________ What is CytoSpec? __________________________________________________________________________________________ The Multivariate Imaging Software package CytoSpec represents a novel approach for creating pseudo-color displays of spectral imaging data via statistical methods that utilize the entire spectral information. It is laid out and optimized to work on 3-dimensional spectral data sets from imaging or mapping infrared or Raman experiments. Native data formats from from various instrument manufacturers can be analyzed. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Whats new in CytoSpec? __________________________________________________________________________________________ * A VCA (vertex component analysis) imaging routine * Fuzzy C-means (FCM) clustering routine with enhanced functionality: A new option " composite image" was added. With CytoSpec 1.4.02 FCM can be carried out on the basis of several interspectral distance measures: Euclidean, standardized Euclidean and D-Values * Modifications of the k-means cluster (KMC) imaging routine: KMC imaging allows to choose between several distance options: Euclidean, standardized Euclidean and D-Values. An option for modifying the learning rate was also added. * New import filter for NT-MDT Raman data (ASCII only) * Added a new import filter for Kaiser-Raman Holospec data (ASCII only) * WITec import filter updated * Added a new import filter for AFM and AFMIR data (Alex Dazzi/Universite Paris Sud) * Agglomerative hierarchical cluster imaging (HCA): dramatic speed improvements in distance matrix calculation. Many thanks to Milos Miljkovic (from Max Diem lab at Northeastern University) which provided the original source code. Speed advantage by a factor of 20 and more! (Speed mode only) * PCA imaging function re-designed. Permits now also "basic" PCA imaging * Function "rotate" with a new option for rotating by an arbitrary angle * Pull-down menus re-arranged. With version 1.4.02 CytoSpec has now the a pulldown menu "Univariate Imaging" (frequency, chemical imaging) and "Multivariate Imaging" containing ANN/Cluster and VCA imaging functions * 3D-FSD is now a part of the preprocessing pulldown menu * A new baseline correction routine added: polynomial baseline correction * Inverted colormaps added: i-jet, i-hsv and i-hot for displaying maps from derivative data * Perkin-Elmer and Bruker-OPUS import routines will load also incomplete maps (will display an error message) * Pre-processing function "subtract": subtraction of hyperspectral data sets by internal or external vibrational spectra possible * Macro programming for automated pre-processing added * Many code improvements & bug fixes. __________________________________________________________________________________________ GETTING STARTED - INSTALLATION __________________________________________________________________________________________ Once you have received the CytoSpec CD (or downloaded the zip-archive of the CytoSpec demo version from CytoSpec's website), you are ready to install the program. During the installation procedure CytoSpec's files will be automatically extracted from the cabinet and all necessary steps for starting CytoSpec will be taken. IMPORTANT: In order to run CytoSpec an additional license key file ('keygen.gen') must be copied into CytoSpec's main directory. This individual license key is NOT included in the CytoSpec CD and can be obtained only by sending a request by e-mail (order@CytoSpec.com). * Open the Windows File Manager or Explorer. * Locate the CytoSpec setup file on the CD you received. The file is named Setup.exe * To start the installation process just double click on setup.exe. The installation program will be started automatically. * Determine the place on your harddisk where you want Cytospec to be installed. Normally the proposed c:\program files\CytoSpec\CytoSpec will do fine. * Then simply follow the instructions of the installation program. * When setup is complete you can find a new program group and a CytoSpec shortcut on the desktop. * You can copy now the license key file into CytoSpec's main directory (e.g. c:\program files\CytoSpec\CytoSpec) * Start the programm by double clicking on the CytoSpec icon.
